After going to Luray Caverns our next stop was Skyline drive in Shenandoah National Park. The scenery was beautiful and there were plenty of place to stop and take some picture.
The drive up to Skyline drive was so nice. Fresh air and open spaces perfect for rolling down the windows.
While the drive up is really nice, the view you get once you're near/at the top is amazing. Along the road are a bunch of stops, each one better than the last. Actually I can't say that, they are all too amazing...
We didn't see too much wildlife but there are signs that show what wildlife lives there. We probably just went at the wrong time...OH but we did see a bear! Its the last picture on this post!
The is filled with green as far as the eye can see (obviously) so it was cool/weird to see this bare tree. Poor tree...
Going there around sunset or early morning is beautiful.
Even though we didn't see animals (other than the bear) there were plenty of butterflies, bees, and other little bugs.
You could seriously spend a whole day just taking pictures. My phone ran out of space just taking pictures in the area, then again I did have a lot in the first place...Anyway
There aren't mountains where I'm from so it was really nice seeing these. I can't see how someone could get tired of mountains though...
I saw some pictures online of the area during fall and winter and its like a completely different world! It's probably a little dangerous during winter but I'm sure the view is worth it.
We basically did spend the whole day there, and the weather was perfect! Since it was really quiet I rolled down the window and hung out of it (yea it's hard to explain but you get it). I wasn't driving of course hahaha....
Finally the drive was over.In a place like this, the simplest everyday things become extraordinary.
Oh and here's the picture of the bear, it was hiding though... but hey its still a bear.
