After a day at Skyline drive, we went back to our hotel, The Mimslyn Inn. It's a beautiful & historic hotel and the staff are super friendly. There's a beautiful area on the back to relax. With hammocks, a gazebo, a pool, free lemonaide, and a beautiful view what more can someone ask for? You shouldn't have to worry about where to eat thier restaurant, The Speakeasy, is a great place to go. The place is casual, nothing too fancy with good comfort food.Eating there is relaxing too, there's no awkward silence since there's a live band and plenty of people.Oh and the cheesecake is to die for! My family loved it so much we bought some for the road!

-Relay for Life-
Soo I'm a little late, (yeah actually really late) posting this. This year my friends and I did Relay for Life. It's a great way to help those with cancer while having fun! Our group made different things to sell like baked goods, bracelets, and food.

Road-trip...Virginia Skyline Drive
After going to Luray Caverns our next stop was Skyline drive in Shenandoah National Park. The scenery was beautiful and there were plenty of place to stop and take some picture.
The drive up to Skyline drive was so nice. Fresh air and open spaces perfect for rolling down the windows.
While the drive up is really nice, the view you get once you're near/at the top is amazing. Along the road are a bunch of stops, each one better than the last. Actually I can't say that, they are all too amazing...
We didn't see too much wildlife but there are signs that show what wildlife lives there. We probably just went at the wrong time...OH but we did see a bear! Its the last picture on this post!
The is filled with green as far as the eye can see (obviously) so it was cool/weird to see this bare tree. Poor tree...
Going there around sunset or early morning is beautiful.
Even though we didn't see animals (other than the bear) there were plenty of butterflies, bees, and other little bugs.
You could seriously spend a whole day just taking pictures. My phone ran out of space just taking pictures in the area, then again I did have a lot in the first place...Anyway
There aren't mountains where I'm from so it was really nice seeing these. I can't see how someone could get tired of mountains though...
I saw some pictures online of the area during fall and winter and its like a completely different world! It's probably a little dangerous during winter but I'm sure the view is worth it.
We basically did spend the whole day there, and the weather was perfect! Since it was really quiet I rolled down the window and hung out of it (yea it's hard to explain but you get it). I wasn't driving of course hahaha....
Finally the drive was over.In a place like this, the simplest everyday things become extraordinary.
Oh and here's the picture of the bear, it was hiding though... but hey its still a bear.

Arts and Crafts
I've been feeling really artsy lately, actually the time really
I'm in Cincinnati right now so I got really bored at the hotel. I got this cup from this one restaurant, washed it out,and doodled on it. Yeah... boredom does crazy things to one's mind... Gel pens are freakin awesome!! I think these ones are smelly too but I'm not too sure...
In art class we're using scatchboards to draw (scratch?) any animal we want. I still gotta finish this one though, dotting the legs take forever but it'll be worth it!

Trip Back- Hong Kong Airport
Here's a short post about the Hong Kong International Airport!
The food is so good! I swear if I had more time and didn't worry about my weight I would eat everything insight. This yummy piece of heaven is called shumai (bunch of different spellings) or 烧卖 in Chinese. They are a dumpling-ish kind of food with pork inside that is steamed. It's usually eaten for dim-sum but hey anytime is a good time to eat food! Oh and there is a shop selling really good French macaroons if you're into that.
There are a bunch of these mini exhibits that talk about Hong Kong's history and culture. There are plenty of them to help pass time. With the number of food places and stores available I'd doubt anyone could be bored.
Oh I found the picture of the macaroons! These are chocolate and caramel, I ate all the vanilla ones in the plane...

Trip to Indonesia...End!
Part of a trip is going home, and for many it's the hardest part.My trip only lasted a month but it felt soo short! I caught up with my family and saw so many new things. I don't have too many pictures but here's a post about my family and other random stuff! We're planning on going again this summer for my cousin's wedding!
Here are my amazing grandpa, uncle, and cousin with his son! They (and everyone else in my family) are the best family you could ask for. They took their time to show me around and we all shared a good laugh through language barriers.
Honestly I really worried to visit, I thought it would be really awkward since we were basically strangers. Even though years had past (and some I never met) they all treated me like we've known each other forever. But it wasn't just my family who acted like that, it was everyone there. From a sales person to a normal person on the street, no fails to make you feel relaxed and at home. The places you go do make up a good part of a trip, but the experiences with the people you meet is what helps you remember how good it was. It's those kind of people in the world that make you feel like you belong even when your a world away from home.

Virginia, Luray Caverns
So many people walk around everyday not even thinking they could be stepping on. It's amazing what could be right under your feet! I know in reality there's probably not a cavern under your house but its nice to imagine.
Nearby the cavern is the Luray Singing Tower, the small park around it is be a perfect place to relax and draw.
Waiting outside for the cavern won't be much of a wait if you enjoy looking at the scenery. Plus there was this amazing Native American singer who really makes waiting a pleasure.
Going into the cavern is just amazing! The entrance to it is inside a building, so from being in a modern furnished room to this just takes your breath away.
You aren't really supposed to touch the formations but at the end of the tour there is a "wishing well" where you can throw a penny to make a wish.
I know the water isn't naturally that colour but its beautiful anyway, it like pulls you in....
There's a tour guide with you the whole time moving you along but you can fall behind and stay a while to take some pictures. They're super friendly and do give you some time but I'm a slow person...
There is a trail with rail's already made so basically anyone can get through it with no problem. Normally climbing/hiking is the fun part of being in a cavern but the view totally makes up for it. Then again I've never been to one where you have to climb through..it seems really fun though!
The picture are really out of order... sorry bout that. At the very end the last formation you see is the "Sunny-Side Up" formation. I'll post just a bunch of pictures of the cavern after this.

Road Trip, Virginia and Washington D.C
In August my family went on a road-trip to Virginia and Washington D.C. Both places couldn't be more different but they're equally amazing.
